This morning as I'm sitting here on the couch, comfortable and relaxed, I can hear the rain pounding onto the roof. I can see the cloudy sky and almost feel the small drops as they hit the ground. It makes me think about life in general.
Why do I worry about family struggles, church, friends, and the future? The raindrop doesn't stop and ask the Lord, "why do I have to jump?" It just falls. We all need to learn that as we are falling, not to focus on the ground but to look up into the eyes of our Savior. For He alone knows the perfect plan for our lives. Sometimes we focus so much on the sad or hurtful things that happen to us in life. When instead we could be counting our blessings and seeing the Lord's hand as He molds us and changes us to be more like Him through our trials.
What the raindrop doesn't know is that God has a plan. And just like God has a plan for the raindrop, he has a plan for me and for you. He isn't just going to let us fall through the sky of life and land on the hard ground for no purpose. Even though the raindrop doesn't know, it fell to give to the grass and the trees. something they couldn't receive without someone having to fall and make a sacrifice. By falling and trusting, the raindrop was able to give to others and just like the raindrop, we need to be the same way and show others through our trials what an amazing Savior and Lord we have!
So next time you wonder, "God, why?"
Think of the raindrop.
